Kindle Fire details
The Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets have been massive sellers for Amazon over the last several years. The first Kindle Fire released in 2011, with a newer model releasing in 2012 and then again in 2015. The most recent model, the Fire 7, released in 2017. The first two years of the Kindle Fire models featured an Android operating system, while the last two major releases have featured their own Fire OS.
In 2012, Amazon released the Kindle Fire HD 7-inch as a variation on the Kindle Fire model. Since then, Amazon has released several new iterations regularly of the Kindle Fire HD line. The most recent model was last year’s Kindle Fire HD 10, but in October of 2018 they launched a new generation of the previous Kindle Fire HD 8.
Kindle Fire deals
The Kindle Fire 7 currently sells for only $50, but features various ads labeled as Special Offers. This discounted pricing comes at the cost of seeing the various promotional pieces Amazon runs throughout the OS. The device features a 7-inch screen, 8GB storage, and Alexa support. The current Kindle Fire HD is the Kindle Fire HD 10, which sells for $150 also featuring the Special Offers. The HD 10 comes in a variety of options, specifically with larger internal storage and charging doc packages.
Last year saw the Kindle Fire drop to $50 for Black Friday, the same price it currently sits at. The Kindle Fire HD 10 dropped down to only $99 last year, marking a significant price drop. This year, either model could feature a similar holiday price.
